Position Summary:

As a Licensed Cosmetologist at Edgewood Tahoe, you will demonstrate expertise with hair care services such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, styling hair, and massaging and treating the scalp focused on providing excellent service to receive the best results. Other services can include applying cosmetics and facial treatments, cleaning and organizing supplies and performing nail services. It is a high priority that you set a warm and welcoming tone for the guests and team members as well as ensure all cleanliness standards are being met. Essential Functions:

  • Apply broad knowledge of salon and spa concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Establish a good rapport with the guests and respond appropriately to guest inquiries and concerns to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Consult, and communicate understanding of guest’s expectations.
  • Carry out to completion, what the guest has booked with cosmetologist.
  • Ability to multitask and efficiently maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of spa
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the facility and equipment by continuously cleaning and sanitizing the various areas of the spa as outlined in department SOP, as well as, following department checklists for opening and closing procedures.
  • Polite and confident displaying empathy and patience
  • Demonstrate commitment to provide the highest quality treatment, possessing outstanding knowledge of haircare styles and trends.
  • Recommend retail product that will help the guest maintain hair style or nail service.
  • Provide hair/nail services and care for guests using normally accepted techniques, abiding by all Nevada State Cosmetology rules/regulations.
  • Properly maintains the salon, its equipment and supplies as well as monitoring the surrounding area to ensure that the facility is used properly and attends to safety and cleanliness of the area. These duties include and are not limited to:
    • Maintaining an adequate supply of towels and supplies.
    • Maintaining the cleanliness of retail shelves and products.
    • Keeping professional use products organized and hazard free.
    • Monitor inventory levels and notify manager when ordering is necessary.
  • Follow all prescribed safety procedures; immediately notifies security and supervisor of accidents and potential safety hazards.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date menu knowledge and retail product knowledge.
  • Immediately report guest issues to spa manager in effort to improve the guest experience and escalate any outstanding guest inquiry or concern that may require additional monitoring or follow-up, to management.

Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • Proven experience in a luxury spa environment is advantageous.
  • Two years or more experience preferred in hospitality.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of guest service and ability to lead team to exhibit this same value.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with lodging management systems and spa booking programs.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
