Social Media Correspondent 


Position Objective:

To correspond with members of the public on social-media sites, such as Twitter and Facebook

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Monitor incoming tweets to PETA's social-media accounts for animal emergencies, campaign updates, or other information, responding as appropriate
• Monitor and reply to comments on PETA's Facebook page
• Monitor the social-media accounts of celebrities and companies
• Perform any other services requested by PETA's representative

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of experience in an office environment
• Previous marketing experience
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software
• Excellent working knowledge of the Internet and specifically social media
• Knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
• Thorough understanding and appreciation of the creative process
• Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proven excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
