The Position

A successful Director of Data Analytics at Winc, Inc. is self-motivated and excels at seeing the big picture while keeping a close eye on the smallest details. This position will interact with all levels of the business, delivering data-driven insights across various business units.

A Director of Data Analytics will have the ability to support senior leadership by being an active participant in business strategy discussions, understanding key metrics of financial success, and bringing actionable solutions that are based on the numbers. This person should have experience with client presentations, data modeling, automated dashboards, and predictive analytics.

The Responsibilities

  • Participate in business strategy discussions.
  • Understand key business metrics and the problems associated with achieving them, using data to propose actionable solutions.
  • Partner closely with cross functional teams of acquisition, retention, brand management, engineers and designers.
  • Develop and deliver dashboards and report on business unit performance that communicate key metrics and insights.
  • Analyze cohorts and channels to identify customer segments that have the highest LTV.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to develop and refine requirements, architect dataflows (ETL) and validate data integrity.
  • Use hypothesis-testing statistical analyses to guide test-and-learn experiments across marketing and digital product teams.
  • Mentor junior business analysts.
  • Assist with data integration projects by creating requirements documentation, data mapping, version control and release planning
  • Implement and maintain tracking pixels for attribution and reporting through Google Tag Manager

Position Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Finance, Marketing Analytics.
  • Excellent SQL skills.
  • Experience in Power BI and data visualizations platforms such as DOMO, Tableau, Looker
  • Ability to mult-task efficiently with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self starter with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Python or R and the Azure platform are a plus.
  • A willingness to be flexible, prioritizing problems that are most pressing and using the most appropriate tools.
