An Air Technician's main objective is to ensure that workers in hazardous or dangerous areas are proided with the necessary service and equipment required to maintain a safe work environment. The Air Technician is expected to read, understand and comply with HSE Integrated's Safety Policies and Job Procedures as well as government laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with client representative on day-to-day operations;
- Provide safety support to client representative including any reasonable request outside normal duties;
- Maintain vehicles, shacks and work areas in a clean, tidy and professional condition;
- Provide complete and accurate handover information to relieving Air Technician;
- Maintain a mature and professional relationship with all personnel in the work area including co-workers, supervisors and mangers;
- Assist managers in providing training to less experiences co-workers;
- Ensure training competency goals are met as laid out in "Training and Competencies";
- Participate and co-operate with HSE Integrated management in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all policies, procedures and programs;
- Ensure that all pertinent paperowkr is completed accuratly, neatly and in a timely manner;
- Understand the functions and maintenance of the equipment operating;
- Report and communicate regularly to Central Dispatch on the following critical changes necessary that may directly affect dispatch (Emergency situations; accomodation check out; occurences on the job site; additional personnel or equipment that may be required; changing locationa and departure of locations);
- Maintain a daily journal of all activities directly related to the job;
- Maintain a light duty kilometer'driver's log;
- Report all deficiencies to senior staff and/or direct supervisor
Requirements
- All standard field level tickets:
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid
- CSTS - Considered an Asset
- CSO (Common Safety Orientation) - Considered an Asset
- Confined Space Entry
- Fall Protection
- Valid, unrestricted Class 5 Driver's Licence (Please note, a valid licence does not include a Learner's Permit or Graduated Licence);
- Current and clean Driver's Abstract
- Ability to run a day/night shift on a non-critial operation:
- Ability to rig in/rig out gas detection and air trailer;
- Provide crew training;
- Conduct H2S drill, man down drill and H2S task-specific safety meetings;
- Conduct equipment maintenance procedures at the field level, gate security, rover and roadblock duties;
- Willingness to cross train for other positions/locations;
- Pass a pre-employment drig & alcohol screen;
- Perform other duties as directed by your Supervisor.
Physically capable of performing the following tasks:
- Working at heights and / or climbing ladders
- Working in small / confined spaces
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)
- Sitting / driving
- Bending / kneeling / crouching
- Standing / walking for long periods of time
- Working in adverse weather environments (heat / cold) and conditions (rain /wind)
- Potential shift lengths 10 - 12 hours, should be available to work longer if client requirements demand longer shifts or schedule changes
- Employee must ensure that they are staying hydrated, alert and fit for duty at all times
