Maintenance Lead

Under the direction of, and reporting to the Maintenance Process Manager, the Maintenance Lead is responsible for the timely completion of electrical and mechanical projects/tasks and the facilitation of training of maintenance team employees.



(*Note: All skills/tasks included in Electrical-Mechanical Tech.)

  1. Communicate necessary information relating to maintenance projects/tasks.
  2. Perform equipment and facility repairs within the work order system and preventive maintenance systems.
  3. Work with process managers, crew leads, and production control as needed to schedule maintenance projects/task.
  4. Assigns WO duties and monitors throughput.
  5. Ensures that employee training is current.
  6. Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs needed for machine and equipment problems.
  7. Schedule contractors as necessary to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production machines and related equipment.
  8. Works with direct reports to find PTO/call in coverage solutions.
  9. Evaluates employee performance and conducts performance reviews (GPS) while supporting employee growth and career development.
  10. Repair, replace and refurbish all electrical and mechanical units and damaged parts, ensuring proper function.
  11. Use programming and communications software for PLC’s and various HMI programs and software.
  12. Read electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings and schematics, planning all work processes accordingly.
  13. Update electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings to properly match equipment upgrades.
  14. Use and handle electrical testing and repair equipment.
  15. Provide technical assistance and help create resolution when electrical and mechanical problems are encountered.
  16. completes direct report timecard approvals.
  17. Install and maintain electrical control systems and solid-state equipment.
  18. Set-up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
  19. Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  20. Inform appropriate process managers and employees of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  21. Participate in facility housekeeping and remain alert to potentially hazardous conditions and situations.
  22. Participates in the selection process for maintenance team positions.
  23. Provide back-up support as needed
  24. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements


Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to identify technical malfunctions in electrical and mechanical units.

Ability to effectively manage time and complete all task assigned.

Strong technical aptitude.

Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.

Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel individually and in a team environment.

Must be able to interface and communicate with equipment operators (PLC’s, HMI, equipment software) in order to

assist with repairs and troubleshooting.

Must be highly safety conscious.

Skilled in CAD Software.

Computer experience necessary.



High school diploma or equivalent required.

3-5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical or maintenance field desired.
