Packaging Supply Manager

This role will be part of the product operations team and report directly to the Sr. Wine Program Manager but will work collaboratively with nearly all internal teams to develop a deep understanding of wine program needs and take ownership to effectively execute Winc's purpose.   • Oversee all packaging sourcing and vendor relationships; source cutting edge materials; determine and recommend supply strategies to create cost savings to increase efficiencies and maximize spend opportunity.
  • Drive price negotiations to ensure Winc's dry good pricing and quality is best in class
  • Drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad hoc price negotiations
  • Create financial models to evaluate the cost and feasibility for potential new projects with various formats, wines, packaging solutions etc.
  • Develop key performance measures for chosen suppliers and negotiate on multiple variables to award longer-term strategic contracts that result in significant cost reduction and improved service levels.
  • Develop spend strategies, identify potential suppliers, analyze supplier capabilities, select suppliers and determine prices, terms, and conditions of agreements.
  • Coordinate dry good deliveries between vendors and bottling facilities, ensuring accuracy of purchase order details, and quantities / delivery dates as they relate to scheduled bottlings.
  • Develop ideas for cost savings, innovation, and quality improvements that are relevant to the product(s) and business.
  • Work collaboratively and provide support to Marketing, Creative and Brand teams on new brand launches, brand needs, brand execution, packaging options.
  • Maintaining packaging specifications and graphics ensuring accessibility and control of packaging assets.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Min of 3 years of work experience working with packaging supply chain from concept to production for multiple items
  • Strong working knowledge of a wide variety of packaging materials
  • Experience in food/alcohol a plus - or other CPG preferred with familiarity with fast-paced production environment
  • Strong communication skills in order to professionally represent the company
  • Subject matter expert, creative and resourceful problem solver
  • Self-starter, exceptional time management, project management, and organizational skills; and the ability to as part of a team or work
  • Strong interpersonal skills, approachable, professional, positive and flexible.
  • Work interactively and proactively with internal and external parties at all levels.
  • Meet communicated schedules and deadlines while working on multiple projects at one time.
  • Work on multiple tasks and/or projects at once with minimal assistance within a fast-paced data-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in researching state of the art packaging and leading edge, experimental design, with package testing methodology
