About the Organization Red Oak Recovery, a CARF accredited program, is a premier clinically-driven therapy program for young adults and adolescents. We are here to serve clients, families, and other stakeholders through a very difficult time. Our team provides gender-specific treatment for young adults ages 18-30, and adolescent males 14-17 struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. Our licensed and experienced staff provide the most clinically sophisticated and integrative substance abuse and mental health treatment available.

As a small clinically-driven program we have the ability to meet each client where they are mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally to design a treatment experience that is unique to them.

Description

The Willows at Red Oak Recovery is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just outside of Asheville N.C. We are a clinically dynamic, trauma intensive substance abuse and mental health treatment program designed specifically for the unique needs of young adult women, ages 18-35. Our focus is on clinical care, and we utilize the latest research-supported clinical modalities to ensure positive outcomes.

 

We are seeking an Executive Director at The Willows that will provide leadership, administrative, technical, and clinical supervision to our clinical and non-clinical employees that implement behavioral and mental health services, substance abuse treatment, trauma therapy, and experiential education. This position will lead a multi-disciplinary clinical team providing a full range of in-depth diagnostic and psychosocial evaluations and professional counseling which focus on more complicated life problems in conjunction with the patient’s multiple addictive issues.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee the supervision of paraprofessional staff, providing clinical supervision that supports the direction of quality and ethical care of patients. Includes addressing issues of transference, counter transference, and parallel relations between subordinates and patients, subordinates and other subordinates, individual patients and therapeutic patient community.
  • Monitor, review, and train in the therapeutic provision of subordinates’ services to patients, groups, and therapeutic patient community.
  • Facilitate/lead clinical team’s evaluation, development, and implementation of overall program services to patients.
  • Perform a variety of tasks that help to meet subordinate professional and personal employment requirements. Includes coordination of all hiring processes coordination of all probationary/permanency job processes, subordinate disciplinary processes, personnel job performance evaluations, workshop/conference training request/directions, overseeing all subordinate time keeping sheets, coordinates all subordinate work schedules, leave requests and direct subordinate task assignments.
  • Facilitate discussion groups, therapeutic groups, and educational groups with educational content being the nature of addiction, recovery, families, and community resources. Group discussions are general in nature as appropriate to the need/function level of client milieu, topics/subjects of group discussion include orientation to residential substance dependency treatment program, orientation to twelve step self-help programs, issues surrounding patients current therapeutic processes, other outpatient/inpatient program resources, referral and aftercare services.
  • Act as agency liaison with all governing bodies including but not limited to DFS, western highlands, and accreditation bodies to maintain adherence to all standards required by such bodies.
  • Provide intensive substance abuse services in serious and complicated cases, which require the flexible use of a wide range of advanced counseling skills.
  • Provide brief patient evaluation/assessments from observations, interactions, and therapeutic interventions conducted while on unit or while participating in structured outside activities.
  • Provide therapeutic interactions that are consistent with the patient’s service plan, facilitation and implementation of case management and therapeutic services as is program specified.
  • Complete liaison discussions with referral sources, outside resources, networking agencies and with all patient family members, Friends, and program participating individuals.
  • Act as support to counselors and other professionals to include staff team meetings, shift reports, and reviewing the progress of patients with multi-disciplinary treatment team staff.
  • Review face-to-face interview charting and supportive role modeling in working with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Serve as back-up to primary therapist and family therapy program, assisting with intake and case management duties as needed on the unit.
  • Act as clinical and administrative supervisor to all clinical staff and paraprofessional staff.
  • Remain on call for a final decision on clinical and non-clinical decisions.
  • Provide program coverage services to co-workers whenever it is necessary or appropriate to the quality of patient care. These responsibilities include but are not limited to case reviews, service formulations and modifications of patient groups and patient community service plans, team interventions with patients and the patient community and group supervisions.
  • Provide and prepare educational group for patients.
  • Document patient’s therapeutic progress or non-progress toward specified service plans, all case management services, and therapeutic patient sessions in the patient’s medical record.
  • Document therapeutic interventions and services rendered to patients.
  • Provide lead role in a team with counselors and assisting in the continuity of care and treatment planning according to agency standards.
  • Make changes in line and subordinate employee relationships within work unit, operational changes in work assignments and changes in referral and/or patient care procedures.
  • Oversee daily operations of the center and be responsible to supervise billing, documentation, and any needs as they arise.
  • Provide input to supervisor as to future budget needs for work unit as related to personnel, space, equipment and supplies.
  • Operate within an established budget.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services
  • Ability to communicate and identify effectively with substance abusers, substance abusers who may also have a mental health diagnosis and with community groups about detoxification information and other community resources and establish a working relationship with multi-disciplinary treatment and referral teams.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office programs
