Description

Koniag Government Services is looking for an Operations Manager to join our team in support of a federal client located in Fort Collins, CO. Pursuant to PL 93-638, as amended, Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are a member of a Federally Recognized Native American Tribe.

The Operations Manager strategically leads resources, processes, systems and functions to maintain and effectively execute an agile service response/escalation/resolution strategy.

  • Oversees Operations Staff to provide 24x7 network and system support and monitoring for business critical environments.
  • Monitor the operational support systems to proactively identify service impacting events relating to IT, network, and facility conditions.
  • Ensure successful completion of all scheduled jobs, communicating with customers and internal staff at regular intervals to ensure expectations are set and that appropriate attention is being paid to incidents.
  • Escalate problems to the appropriate engineering disciplines within the organization or external vendors as required to achieve resolution.
  • Manage, coordinate, and communicate on incidents from inception to resolution, including root cause analysis. Drive continuous improvement to monitoring services and internal processes for resolution of support requests and production incidents.
  • Apply tools and techniques to proactively search for and document potential issues in production environments, and work with other team resources to ensure the highest possible quality of service
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing procedures in concert with the government lead and customer representatives to be used by all Operations Staff in the conduct of their day-to-day operations.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of internal SLA's and reporting mechanisms.
  • Responsible for training all Operations Staff positions on to support procedures and SLA’s, as required.
  • Oversees the composition of daily reports on the activities of the Operations Staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring staffing for Operations requirements on a day-to-day basis (the shift schedule) and periodic requirements such as Disaster Recovery Testing.
  • Oversees the access and performance of duties within the Datacenter, ensuring that only authorized personnel are allowed into the facility and that all visitors are properly escorted.
  • Reviews and approves staff timecards.
  • Creates staff objectives and conducts appraisals at least annually.
  • Assists in the hiring new employees.
  • Make recommendations on salary changes
  • May be required to fill in during staff shortages, if necessary.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

 

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move items that weigh up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
