Koniag Government Services is looking for an Application Administrator - AutoOps to join our team in support of a federal client located in Fort Collins, CO. Pursuant to PL 93-638, as amended, Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are a member of a Federally Recognized Native American Tribe.

The Application Administrator- AutoOps is responsible for the configuration and continued operation of monitoring systems for the enterprise hosting environment. Systems monitors include operating system, application, database and networks for a 1,000 plus server environment in geographically diverse locations. We host over 10 major applications and over 50 minor applications. This position is responsible for ensuring the output from the monitoring systems and provides actionable, accurate, real-time status’s of services to both the system owners and managers. Application Administrator provides trend analysis for strategic planning and resource management. This position is also responsible for configuring and maintaining components that maintain operational viewpoints for customer systems including the dashboards and periodic reports to the customer. This position is additionally responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of the components that make up the monitoring and job control systems, to include the network connectivity and account management that make them effective.

Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Object Oriented Programming
  • Application Administration
  • Window, UNIX scripting
  • Familiarity with monitoring Software  
  • SQL query development
  • Crystal Reports
  • Java Applications
  • Database Administration (MySQL, posgtres, oracle)
  • Familiarity with enterprise batch job control systems such as BMC's Control-M

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government customers in secure environments.
  • Experience with VMware technologies; vCenter, vMotion, Storage vMotion, SRM.
  • Citrix CCA-V or CCP-V certification highly desirable
  • Some experience and understanding with Microsoft HyperV

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move items that weigh up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
