Description

Koniag Government Services is seeking a Storage and Backup Administrator in the Fort Collins, CO area.  Pursuant to PL 93-638, as amended, Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are a member of a Federally Recognized Native American Tribe.

The Storage and Backup Administrator is responsible for:

  • Enterprise backup/recovery operations
  • Providing 24X7 on-call support for backup/recovery operations as a member of the on-call rotation
  • Developing, maintaining, and executing business continuity plans for disaster recovery
  • Supporting backup/recovery of various platforms including Unix (Solaris/Linux), VMware, Hyper-V, SQL Server, SharePoint, Windows, and Oracle Database using RMAN
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving backup/recovery issues in a timely manner
  • Configuring, monitoring, and maintaining backup/recovery software and hardware so that it complies with specified security guidelines
  • Developing and maintaining policy and procedure documentation
  • Responding to requests for information for internal system audits
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience providing backup/recovery administration support
  • Experience operating EMC Networker/Data Domain/DD Boost in an enterprise environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple operating systems including Oracle Solaris, RedHat Linux, and Windows
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V
  • Experience with backup/recovery of databases including SQL Server and Oracle Database
  • Basic knowledge of fiber channel SAN’s and Ethernet networks
  • Experience with Data Protection Advisor, and Data Protection Central a plus
  • Scripting experience is a plus (i.e. Perl, Unix Shells, etc.)
  • Experience with EMC enterprise storage technologies is a plus (i.e. vBlock, VNX, VMAX, etc.)
  • BMC Control-M experience is a plus
  • Applicants will be required to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move items that weigh up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
