About the Role

The Fire Extinguisher Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, recharging and testing fire extinguishers to ensure compliance for purposes of equipment certification.

 

Responsibilities

Inspections

  •  Inspect, repair, recharge and test fire extinguishers to ensure compliance for purposes of equipment certification

 

Scheduling & Sales

  • Fire and safety related equipment
  • Monthly customer base and scheduling inspections of fire/safety related equipment
     

Education and Certifications

  • NFPA 10 (Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Certification) (Mandatory)
  • A valid, unrestricted Driver’s Licence (Please note, a valid licence does not include a Learner’s Permit or Graduated Licence)
  • A Driver's Abstract indicating an unrestricted license with no serious traffic safety violations and 4 or less convictions of any type in the last 36 months

 

Experience

  • Solid experience in inspecting, repairing, maintaining and testing techniques for fire extinguishers and other life safety equipment
  • Knowledge of NFPA 1962 Standards for the inspection, care and use of fire hose, couplings, nozzles and the testing of fire hoses is an asset
  • Ability to work with small tools and lift 55 lbs
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office
