Recruiting Coordinator, Academy Museum 

Description

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

 

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources the Recruiting Coordinator will act as a mediator between hiring departments and potential employees. You will ensure posting to recruitment sites, review applications and ensure a great candidate experience for all potential hires. This is a temporary position for 24 months.

You Will:

  • Assist hiring managers in writing and posting job descriptions that align with Museum grammar and style.
  • Coordinate interviews and at times conduct phone, zoom or in-person interviews.
  • Maintain a high level of industry awareness and market intelligence in hiring trends, labor shifts, market unrest, and compensation challenges.
  • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations to ensure interview, selection techniques, and documentation comply with organizational procedures as well as applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Review candidates' applications and decide if they meet minimum qualifications to be considered for employment.
  • Deal with confidential information with care and discretion.

 

 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • Full-cycle recruiting experience required.
  • 2+ years of recruitment experience; (non-profit recruitment with emphasis in arts and museum preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • Commitment to assisting with recruitment from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and general recruiting practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and knowledge of Airtable helpful.
