This position consists of a variety of data and analytical tasks within the Baseball Operations department. Under the direction of the Baseball Informatics group, this position is responsible for the daily operation of several processes and various data maintenance and analytical projects including but not limited to operating and extending processes for data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading to and from internal and external data sources, both structured and unstructured data. Additionally, this position is responsible for other duties as assigned by the Baseball Informatics group.
Must be available for the entire term of internship.
Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL),
Experience with a programming language such as C#, Perl or Python,
Understanding of baseball related data including Trackman and Sportvision data sets,
Demonstrated ability to work with other team members and to problem solve independently
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university, or currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program at a Junior, Senior or Graduate level,
Experience with statistical analysis software such as R,
Understanding of sabermetric techniques for player evaluation
