Description

Astronics-PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements. 

 

SUMMARY:

Facilitates the development of new products and manufacturing technologies, working closely with key customers, engineering, supply chain and operations. Engaged in direct customer-facing management, strategy development and capabilities determination. Helps generate new business and ensures growth in strategic areas. Assesses potential application of company products or services and offers solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. Assists customers in product development to leverage the relationship toward future production contracts.

 

This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation and this position may be responsible for the performance of various functions that may be an integral part of the Company’s overall SOX / 404 internal control structure.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes the following duties and others as assigned.

 

  • Drives the technical research and development, planning, and strategy of new products and services to existing, and new customers.
  • Maintains routine and frequent contact with customers, ensuring the fulfillment of our obligations. Manages issues and provides a personal element to business interactions, ensuring success through superior communication and relationship building.
  • Leverages technical & supply chain experience to identify partnerships, new business opportunities, and emerging markets.
  • Develops sales contacts, follows up on leads, and makes calls on potential customers in alignment with the Business, Engineering, and Sales teams.
  • Develops and delivers professional sales presentations that focus on the benefits of Astronics-PECO capabilities and speak directly to customer needs.
  • Researches, develops, and maintains long and short-range technical sales and marketing plans focusing on Defense and Aerospace markets.
  • Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of newly developing technologies and manufacturing practices.
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of trends relative to the markets PECO serves, including competition, changes in business climate, emerging needs, and changes in customer business strategy.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No current direct supervisory responsibilities, but may manage subordinates, representatives or distributors in future.

Position Requirements

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with additional technical training.
  • Ten years of field technical account management / industrial defense and aerospace sales experience.
  • Exceptional Customer-Facing communication skills and experience required.
  • OEM Account Management experience highly desired
  • Experience selling engineering and manufacturing services required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large and small accounts.
  • Ability to travel at short notice to address customer issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain technical drawings and data.
  • Strong presentation skills and an ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Functional knowledge and experience in MRP system utilization.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in all MS Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should posses a valid driver’s license.
