Description

The Senior Accountant is a key member in the accounting department to support the monthly financial close process by preparing and completing monthly account reconciliations and journal entries, as assigned. This position will also be responsible for preparing assigned schedules and ad hoc accounting-related projects and/or administrative tasks as assigned by others.

General Ledger

  • Prepares and completes account reconciliations and journal entries for, but not limited to:
    • Cash
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Prepaids
    • Accrued Liabilities and Others
    • Fixed Assets
    • Goodwill and Intangibles
    • Equity
  • Serves as back-up for month-end duties assigned to others in the accounting team.
  • Analyzes assigned general ledger account detail as needed and propose corrections, and investigating and reporting on significant items.
  • Calculates commissions earned by Company’s sales team and ensure commission rates and payouts are in accordance with contracts and Company policy.
  • Prepares the commission expense budget, as needed.
  • Prepares year-end audit support schedules.
  • Performs preliminary reviews of JEs and account recs.
  • Prepares and distribute New Sales reporting to the Sales Department and the Executive Committee.
  • Responsible for other miscellaneous accruals and journal entries.
  • Responsible for select account reconciliations and ensuring outstanding items are followed through timely.
  • Responsibilities may also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
  • Assists in preparing and providing supporting schedules to 3rd party tax advisor(s)
  • Assists with research of various accounting issues, as assigned.
  • Assists with other general ledger-related functions, ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed or requested.

Accounts Receivable

  • Assists with the monthly billing process by reviewing and approving system-generated bills.
  • Assists with the monthly reporting for accounts receivable, bad debt reserves and collections.
  • Assists in the collection of outstanding account receivables.
  • Assists with the preparation and processing of Annual Minimum Fee billings in a timely manner.

Other

  • Fulfills periodic reporting/data requests for the department, auditor requests, etc.
  • Assists in the documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assists with process improvements, streamline processes and provide recommendation to management
  • Assists with implementing new processes to Adaptive Insights for commissions and other areas as needed
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years accounting experience.
