Description

The Ascentis Business Development team is made up of individuals looking for an entry-level, or early career role where you can have the opportunity to jump-start your career in sales with a rapid growth technology company. This role will prepare you to become a subject matter expert at creating new customer deals by focusing on strategic targeting and execution of sales philosophy and process. What are the general responsibilities of the position?

  • Build your knowledge of business goals and initiatives and how to create value in conversations with executives.
  • Receive structured and on the job training of a sales philosophy and process that is game-changing and creates the foundation to successful sales and sales support roles.
  • Contribute to pipeline growth that drives the organizations accelerated sales goals.
  • Master introductory conversations by calling on warm and cold leads to set up appointments and demos for sales executives
  • Follow-up quickly with leads who have expressed solution interest
  • Build and groom territories in the CRM (Salesforce.com) while learning Salesforce best practices
  • Work closely with and learn from veteran sales reps in a partnering role that facilitates accelerated pipeline growth
  • May include some travel opportunities to support trade show efforts

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a preference toward business, marketing and sales degrees
  • Customer facing, sales, lead generation or marketing experience preferred
  • Loves small company culture and the responsibility to contribute toward big goals
  • Competitive and driven
  • Must be organized and efficient while working on multiple tasks
  • Great listener and quick thinker with an inquisitive and curious nature
  • Naturally wants to connect and grow relationships through conversation first
 
Position Requirements

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
  • Proven success in direct selling within SaaS or on-demand application software preferred
  • HCM sales experience is a plus but not a requirement
  • Ability to build rapport, establishing trust and credibility through a consultative approach, and balance assertive sales follow-up
  • Self-motivated and you bring a work ethic that demonstrates a will to be successful
  • Possess a sense of natural curiosity and demonstrate an ability to learn quickly
  • Embrace and adapt to change in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral
  • Collaborative teammate with a positive and professional outlook to help push the organization forward
