Share Email Opening Title Tree Trimmer  Description This position receives direct supervision from a Tree Trimming Crew Leader, or in certain situations to a Lineman or Line Crew Leader. Trims or removes limbs from trees around or over high voltage lines, to remove trees. Acquires permission to cut and trim trees around power lines on customer's property. Assists line construction crew as needed. Learns and acquires knowledge to advance to tree crew leader. Operates chain saws, chippers and drive a Class A rated Bucket Truck. Cuts underbrush.   Position Requirements Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate. Must have a valid Georgia Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License or the ability to acquire one within the first six months of employment Must have experience as a tree trimmer Must have ability to climb trees with rope or climber gaffs or should have ability and willingness to acquire skills in climbing. Must be able to perform heavy manual duty work in all types of weather. Should have the ability to learn a wide variety of skilled tasks required in line construction and maintenance work. Have knowledge of electric distribution lines and their voltage and danger. Must have safety knowledge as it relates to electric distribution tree trimming including First Aid, CPR and proper use of PPE. Should have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must live within a 30 minute driving distance to the Electric Department Operating center.   Physical/Environmental Requirements The primary work environment of this position is in field, the candidate will be exposed to extreme weather conditions and will be required to perform manual tasks.
