Building Engineering Purchasing & Inventory Clerk

This position is responsible for the purchasing and inventory of goods, materials, supplies and equipment for Crystal Mountain Building Engineering Department, as well as assisting with daily office operations.

  • Coordinate all purchasing and departmental billing with accuracy, efficiency, and excellent guest service.
  • Purchase parts, materials, and supplies as needed for Crystal Enterprises, other departments, and condo units owned by others (property owners) upon request.
  • Purchase and coordinate delivery, installation and repairs of all kitchen appliances.
  • Research parts needed for appliances, mechanical equipment, F&B equipment, etc.
  • Maintain communication by providing status updates and timely follow-up.
  • Review packing slips and invoices to ensure accuracy, stock products, and maintain accurate product pricing at each restock of inventory.
  • Maintain adequate and accurate inventory supply in neat and orderly systems.
  • Assist with coordination of contractor scheduling and billing.
  • Support damage billing and communicate with guests and owners – documenting all communications.
  • Perform administrative and support duties (answering the phone, errands, mail, etc.), maintain accurate records, prepare departmental reports as necessary.
  • Prepare work orders in DataWorks software based on service requests (email, housekeeping request, hot sheets, dailies, ext. 5600, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Building Engineering Supervisor and other team members to ensure guest and owner satisfaction.
  • Communicate issues of significance to the Building Engineering Office Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Power Point) and Microsoft Publisher. Able to create accurate reports in Access & Excel with formulas and graphs.
  • Basic math proficiency required for measurements, fractions, basic formulas in Excel, etc.
  • Clear and concise verbal communication skills.
  • Able to maintain, create and suggest organizational systems for inventory controls.
  • Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology.
  • Able to analyze, interpret and present data in various formats.
  • Able to work with computers, faxes, copiers, scanners and various other technologies in offices and on resort.
  • Dependable and meets goals.

  • AA/AS degree preferred; minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
  • Combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
