We are seeking a Respite Care Provider to work directly with children and teenagers with disabilities.

Requirements include providing care for individuals with disabilities, offering relief to family members or caregivers, and enabling them to work, go to school, or just take a break. Giving piece of mind, while away, that their family member with a disability is well cared for and safe. Respite care may take place in the family's home, in the provider's home, or in the community.

Depending on the individual needs of the child, this position may include providing general supervision, entertaining, feeding, dressing, helping with personal cares, and providing behavior support. Respite Providers also assist and teach daily living skills and provide companionship.

Becoming a Respite Provider is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the Human Services field or for those in nursing, psychology, pre-med, special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, etc.

 
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma required
  • One to two years of related experience working in the day care or respite field
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years and a good driving record
  • Must have proof of personal vehicle insurance
  • Ability to pass a criminal and caregiver background check
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening including drug test, physical evaluation, and TB Test
  • The employee must frequently lift, support, and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift, support, and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 5 or more continuous hours without sitting down
  • Frequent to occasional, bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching
  • Must be caring and compassionate, and want to make a difference in the lives of our clients

Exempt/Non-Exempt This position is ineligible.  
Open Date This position is eligible for a $200 training bonus.
