Under the direction of the VP of Administrative Services & Compliance and Privacy Officer, the Assistant Compliance and Privacy Officer is responsible for a variety of tasks. This position will support overseeing all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of and adherence to the organization's compliance program and policies and procedures covering the privacy of and access to patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and standards governing privacy and security.

• Displays effective and professional communication with co-workers, superiors and clients.
• Adheres to extremely strict HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
• Adheres to Company Handbook and applies policies and procedures.
• Prepares and goes over Orientation Process with new hires as needed.
• Assist the Manager of Operations to analyze all team members Quality and Productivity Control Reports to generate Bi-Weekly Productivity and Quality Assurance Reports for continued re-educational purposes and for Month-End Statistical Reports for client and corporate.
• Receives and submits team members request for employment verifications to corporate for processing as needed.
• Supports in providing client with various End of Month Statistics Reports by the 1st and 2nd day of every month.
• Assists implementation, monitoring and adherence of the Corporate Compliance Program.
• Supports Assistant Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer in performing initial and periodic information privacy risk assessments and conducting related ongoing compliance auditing activities in coordination with the entity’s other compliance and operational assessment functions.
• As directed and as requested by Compliance and Privacy Officer, follow up with legal counsel, management and key departments, to ensure the company has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current company and legal practices and requirements.
• Collaborates in overseeing, directing, delivering, or ensuring delivery of initial and privacy training and orientation to all employees, professional staff and other business partners.
• Contributes in researching, obtaining and distributing educational materials for the employees’ use.
• Assists administering established processes for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and taking action on all complaints or violations concerning the company’s compliance standards, privacy policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with privacy practices and consistent application of sanctions for failure to comply with privacy policies for all individuals in the company’s workforce, and for all business partners, in cooperation with Human Resources, management, and legal counsel as applicable.
• Works with all company personnel involved with any aspect of release of protected health information, to ensure full coordination and cooperation under the company’s policies and procedures and legal requirements.
• Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitors advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.

Position Requirements


  • 6 months to 1 year of management level and of healthcare related experience. Advanced knowledge of computers, scanners and office equipment preferred.
  • Ability to work with all levels of team members including customer and management.
  • Excellent computer skills (EXCEL, WORD and POWER POINT) and typing skills.
  • Certificates & Licenses RHIT and/or RHIA preferred
