  • Job Summary:

    The Renewal Programs Manager in the Certification and Credentialing Services Department is responsible for renewal and recertification of National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) certificants and Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) credential holders, including the development of any supporting programs and processes to help sustain engagement and make these processes more efficient and customer friendly. The position leads the team responsible for these programs in accordance with NBCC and CCE policies, processes, and procedures and is responsible for developing continuous engagement programs and communications to encourage participation and enthusiasm for renewal and recertification programs. The Renewal Programs Manager is responsible for leading the team as the first point of contact for renewal and recertification of certificants and credential holders, oversees the auditing process, and helps to establish audit procedures to ensure compliance with certification and credential standards. The Renewal Programs Manager works with the Vice President and Director in strategic planning for these functions.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Leads renewal and recertification of NBCC certificants and CCE credential holders, including the development of any supporting programs and processes.

    • Leads the team as the first point of contact for renewal and recertification of certificants and credential holders. Responsible for assessing certificant and credential holder needs and requirements.

    • Develops and implements continuous engagement efforts with certificants and credential holders such as programs and/or communications.

    • Serves as an expert on renewal and recertification and best practices and services for NBCC and CCE.

    • Builds positive relationships with certificants and credential holders as well as internal staff from entire organization.

    • Ensures that current certificants and credential holders are meeting the ongoing certification and credentialing maintenance requirements.

    • Develops strategies and suggests projects that improve the operations of the engagement staff/team through more efficient processes, procedures, and systems.

    • Makes data-driven decisions regarding certificant and credential holder engagement.

    • Prioritizes and manages the workflow of the department and assigns tasks to team members accordingly.

    • Communicates regularly with Communications Department to ensure consistent and mission-driven communications.

    • Oversees the auditing process and helps to establish audit procedures to ensure compliance with certification and credential standards.

    • Handles escalations related to certificant and credential holder customer service issues specific to recertification or recredentialing requirements.

    • Oversees all monthly billing processes and makes suggestions for improvement.

    • Manages a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities to include all supervisory duties for managing a team (performance appraisal, discipline, documentation, reviewing timesheets, etc.).

    Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable):

    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.

    • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

    • Provides constructive feedback and timely performance evaluations.

    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
