  • Job Summary:

    The Application Programs Manager in the Certification and Credentialing Services Department is responsible for developing new strategies and programs related to certifications and credentials to support the direction of the organization as defined by the Board of Directors and in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. The Application Programs Manager will monitor and ensure that all standards for each credential and certification are met as part of each application review.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Develops and implements programs related to certifications and credentials in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.

    • Develops new strategies to support the direction of the organization as defined by the Board of Directors.

    • Monitors and ensures that all standards for each credential and certification are met as part of each application review.

    • Creates and manages long-term goals for each program. Ensures goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, quality assurance, standards requirements for each certification and credential, quality, and team member performance.

    • Reviews and responds to certification and credentialing appeals.

    • Provides reports and data to the Director for the operating plan for the programs.

    • Develops and implements an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.

    • Manages a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities to include all supervisory duties for managing a team (performance appraisal, discipline, documentation, reviewing timesheets, etc.).

    • Provides second reviews and decisions for applications as needed.

    Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable):

    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.

    • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

    • Provides constructive feedback and timely performance evaluations.?

    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s degree required  
    • Three or more years of professional experience managing processes  
    • Three years’ related experience and/or training required 
    • Three years’ supervisory-related experience 
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. 

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  
    • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.   
    • Regularly required to use hands and reach with hands and arms.   
    • May require overnight travel.  
    • May need to be able to work from home for an extended period of time.
