All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Description Chiaravalle Montessori is looking for qualifed, professional and compassionate School Psychologist to join our dynamic Learning Resources team for the 2020-2021 school year.  This person will provide support to the social and emotional development of all students (K-8).  The School Psychologist position is a full time opportunity, Monday - Friday, 30 hours per week. THE POSITION The School Psychologist works as an advisory to the Educational Director, Head of School and faculty.  You will work in collaboration with the Learning Resources team to provide all students with socio-emotional support through a variety of methods, such as topic specific groups, whole class instruction, and providing specific intervention as needed.  You assist in identifying children with behaviorial, emotional and social difficulties at the request of teachers, parents, the Educational Director and the Head of School.  The School Psychologist supports children with identified psychological needs to include "drop in" support for those who are having difficulties in the classroom.  You will assist parents through the process of identifying children's needs, communicating Learning Resources' procedures, and providing appriopriate referrals and recommendations for support.  Additionally, you assist in the transition of identified children at Chiaravalle to a new school if needed, including observing potential alternative environment. As students make their journey, our nurturing yet challenging environment helps them gain greater independence and self-confidence while developing higher-order cognitive skills.   Position Requirements Education & Experience  The ideal candidate has a Master's degree in School Psychology, State Certification in School Psychology (Board or National Certification preferrable) and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a school setting. Montessori experience is a plus. Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication, organization skills are preferred. This person must be adaptable to different situations, communication and social styles. Patience, the ability to stay calm and maintain respectful and peaceful communication with children and adults is also essential. Other Requirements Physical requirements include full ability to see, walk, hear and talk as well as lift and carry up to 15 lbs. regularly, up to 40-50 lbs in the case of lifting or carrying a child in an emergency situation, and pushing/pulling/reaching to maintain files, supplies and equipment.   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   This position is currently not accepting applications.
