We publish independent reporting, rankings, data journalism and advice that has earned the trust of our readers and users for more than 85 years. U.S. News seeks to expand its roster of freelancers who have experience writing about technical topics, including programming languages, cloud-computing platforms or data. Writers will be responsible for reporting and writing long-form guides on topics as assigned. You’ll conduct interviews on these topics, adhere to an outline we provide and include fact-checking information in your submission. The guide itself is intended for readers who have a limited background in the subject area, so your writing should be clear, concise and conversational. Experience interviewing subject matter experts and meeting deadlines is also a must. Knowledge of AP style is preferred but not required.
