The line look reports to the Sous Chef or the Executive Chef and is responsible for the preparation, cooking, and plating of high-quality meals in our made-from-scratch kitchen.
This is an entry-level position with the opportunity for growth.
Prepares all food items as directed by the Chef and follows posted menus for food preparation
Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is set up and stocked.
Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
Monitors the use of food to eliminate waste
Assists in the proper storage of all food items
Stocks food in compliance with health department regulations and company policies and procedures
Provide exceptional customer service by focusing on delivering excellent quality of food
Serves prepared food in a neat and sanitary fashion according to Chef preferences
Contributes to creative input towards daily meals and specials
Maintains a sanitary work area at all times, cleans assigned areas of the kitchen, and assists in all aspects of general kitchen cleanup when required
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years line/prep cook experience in an upscale restaurant setting.
Experience with cooking-from-scratch using fresh meats, produce, grains, dairy products, and a variety of seasonings.
Knife skills, proper use of measurements, reading recipes, product identification.
Knowledgeable of the safe use and proper care of commercial kitchen equipment.
