Blue is looking for a Vice President of Business Banking and Wealth who will partner with the Chief Lending Officer and Chief Retail Officer coordinating key business actions across the branch network, and responsible for the overall management and development of the credit union’s business banking and private client portfolios, including deposit growth, lending growth and member development. The Vice President of Business Banking and Wealth is a senior management level role and reports to the Chief Retail Officer and Chief Lending Officer. This position will also focus on:

Responsible for ensuring a high-quality commercial loan portfolio; establish performance standards for commercial loans; manage commercial lending policies and procedures that are compliant with Board directives and regulatory agencies; advise on difficult and complex lending situations; evaluate results and oversee program for improvement.

Oversee business banking and private client relationships including profitability, strategic goals and management policies; ensure the department builds and maintains a high-quality portfolio mix of targeted high value and high potential small business clients.

Responsible for the retail performance of all market locations; ensure the establishment of strategic objectives specific to each market that support member commitment; establish service standards necessary to create a consistent superior member experience; responsible for ensuring a high-quality deposit mix to attract and retain business and private client members. Evaluate results and oversee business programs for improvement.

Oversee the sales of treasury management products for the small business and commercial segment; manage business development activities that drive profitability and align with the Bank’s strategic plan.

Maintain current knowledge of major competitors within respective markets; stay abreast of emerging trends and changing practices related to business banking.

Maintain ongoing communication with the senior management on business banking and private client performance; ensure regular communication and interaction with CLO, CBO and peer leaders; and strategic position of Blue Federal Credit Union; service as the private client and business banking point of contact with key outside vendors and peer leaders, auditors, and regulatory agencies.

Develop and maintain a capable, motivated, and resourceful staff within defined human resource allocations; evaluate team performance on a regular basis; promote ongoing development and encourage the growth of future leadership within the Credit Union.

Position Requirements

Experience:

10-15 years’ experience in commercial lending, familiarity with financial lending regulations, with 3+ years’ experience in credit analysis.

3+ years’ experience consulting to high net worth clients with an established network of referral sources including attorneys, accountants, community and business leaders. General understanding of business succession planning, executive compensation, and retirement planning.

Strong understanding and knowledge of bank depository products, including cash management services.

Education/Certifications/Licenses: 4 Year College Degree required in Business, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or certification a plus.

Interpersonal Skills: Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of professional diplomacy, trust and relationship. Obtaining cooperation and agreement (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a expert level of interpersonal and written communication skills are critical to the success of this position.

• Assesses credit risks, presents credit alternatives. Develop structured processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Sets sales goals and communicates goals to team members. Focuses the team on profitability while demonstrating a commitment to the overall member experience.

 
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Compensation $95,299 - $142,949  
Bondability Employment at Blue Federal Credit Union is contingent upon successful bondability.
