What You Would Be Doing
The Senior Accountant position ensures general accounting functions are performed accurately and timely. This position is also tasked with providing information, primarily financial, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders, and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the activities of corporate accounting to assure accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to: internal and external monthly financial statements; monthly journal entries; and work papers.
  • Assist with annual financial audits and any additional external audit requests.
  • Assist with annual budgets – working closely with department leaders in developing budgets.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and bank/investment accounts monthly to ensure the accurate and timely recording of all transactions. Also, assist with monthly billings and cash receipt activities.
  • Provide monthly financial analysis and assist with departmental and inter-company financial reviews. Prepare forecasts and special analyses as requested.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
  • Respond to CFO and Controller as requested and required with accurate and timely work to facilitate his/her financial needs.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others courteously and professionally.
  • Conforms with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, financial, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in accounting.
  • Two years of cost accounting experience
  • Strong general ledger, GAAP, cost accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and banking knowledge.
  • Excellent computer skills – including spreadsheets and word processing tools – and ability to learn new programs expeditiously.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, financial, or related field or equivalent work experience.
