Qualifications for Success:
Knowledge of:
Use and care of materials, chemicals and equipment used in custodial work methods
Proper handling of bio-hazardous materials and bodily fluids
Principles and practices of safety used in custodial work
Materials and equipment used in cleaning and caring for floors, walls, fixtures, and furniture
Materials and chemicals used in cleaning, washing, and waxing operations
Housekeeping methods and sanitation materials and techniques
Strong communication skills. Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
Basic Computer knowledge (MS Word, Office, Outlook)

Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment and the ability to use them economically and efficiently; ability to make minor plumbing and perform a variety of routine maintenance tasks
Education:
High school or GED
Experience:
Six months of full-time, paid experience as a custodian engaged in the cleaning and care of public buildings or facilities.
Certifications:
Must possess FEMA ICS 100 and 700 certifications within six (6) months of employment.
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s license without any restriction due to driving record. Must also be able to drive a county vehicle.
Mental/Physical Demands:
Perform a wide variety of physical tasks such as bending, stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
Lift and carry materials and custodial equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; in excess of 50 pounds with assistance.
May come into contact with human fluids and waste (i.e., blood, sputum, urine).
Work with hazardous materials such as solvents and chemicals.
Work in inclement weather.
Work around dust, dirt, noise, and odors.
Hours:
May be required to work irregular hours, holidays, and weekends.
