JOB SUMMARY: Self-starter, able to work independently, responsible for creating welcoming, supportive and inclusive member experiences by sustaining smooth operations of the building in accordance with YWCA Health and Wellness brand expectations, facility standard operating procedures and department policies and best practices.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide Leadership to Staff:

  • Model excellent communication, teamwork skills, and the YWCA Mission though cross-departmental work.
  • Provide direction to staff to ensure quality customer service, compliance with YWCA policies and procedures, and accountability to job expectations.
  • Provide leadership during shift to support building operations, including member conflict resolution, maintenance issues, and staff support.

 

Administration:

  • Complete small building maintenance and repairs in a timely manner and communicate any repairs to Facilities department.
  • Responsible for daily tracking of forms.
  • Support daily room set-ups as defined by Facilities department.
  • Perform closing procedures.
  • Provide short term breaks for front line staff.

 

Member Satisfaction:

  • Ensure delivery of YWCA brand standards.
  • Supports sales team by giving tours during busy times or off hours.
  • Resolve customer concerns and answer customer inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance, security and operations by upholding policies and enacting standard operating procedures.

 

RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to the Operations Coordinator who reports to the General Manager who reports to the Vice President of Health and Wellness. The incumbent will interact with several levels of the Health and Wellness Department and Health and Wellness customers. Critical relationships include front line staff, the coordinator team and the manager team and the members.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Must possess High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills and proven ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Possess current CPR and First Aid certification or successfully obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proven ability to manage conflict in a professional and solution focused manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and make sound decisions.
  • Must be professional while dealing with ambiguity.
  • Must have excellent communication skills—written and verbal.
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal & external customers.

Preferred:

  • Experience as a manager or team lead.
  • Working knowledge of health & wellness.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk continuously, use stairs and kneel and crouch.
