Ski & Snowboard Shop Sales Associate

The Ski & Snowboard Shop Sales Associate is responsible for helping winter sports enthusiasts select the appropriate hard and soft goods that will enhance the guest experience on the mountain, conducting sales transactions, and providing helpful and knowledgeable service to guests.

  • Educate guests and co-workers about the product specifications of winter sports merchandise such as skis, snowboards, boots, poles, goggles, etc.
  • Offer friendly service to customers by responding to their needs and questions about winter sports equipment, clothing, and related merchandise while ensuring a memorable shopping experience.
  • Maintain merchandise and visual presentation standards throughout the store. Assist with merchandising and floor moves and maintain par levels as needed.
  • Review all industry and manufacturer warranty details to provide accurate information to guests, including the implications of any requested modifications.
  • Assist with the daily operational functions of the department.
  • Attend all scheduled training and product clinics as required.
  • Promote ski services such as ski lessons, special events, and products to guests.
  • Follow shop procedures on all required forms, waivers and protocols.
  • Provide efficient service on all orders and clearly communicate expected timeline for completion to guests and to other staff. Communicate any special requests or needs to the ski shop supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Assist with store cleaning as needed to include windows, countertops, and displays.
  • Follow all departmental and accounting cashier procedures.
  • Open and close the shop as scheduled (must be 18 or over).
  • Offer assistance to guests on all resort amenities.

Position Requirements


  • Strong math and reading skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to count back change and reconcile a bank.
  • Proficient understanding of hospitality reservations software (i.e. SMS) and Point of Sales (POS) retail systems.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of winter sports equipment and/or retail sales preferred.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical & Other Requirements:

    • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
    • Ability to work outdoors for events as business needs may dictate.
    • Avid enthusiast in outdoor recreation preferred.
    • The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
    • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Must be age 18 or over to work in cash handling position at night.
    • Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
