Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Refuse Collector  Location City of Griffin   Description   Using approved safety gear and methods, collects refuse and empties into a refuse truck, in a safe and efficient manner. MAJOR DUTIES Collects refuse and empties into refuse truck; operates compactor mechanism to compact refuse. Collects limbs and other items discarded at curb. Cleans debris from around refuse containers. Assists driver in backing truck by providing directions. Assists in unloading truck at transfer station or landfill. Flags traffic as needed. Assists in cleaning refuse truck. Provides back door service. Repairs, replaces or provides new containers to customers. Provides missed service calls. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Performs related duties.   Position Requirements Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations. No experience requirements.
