We provide support services and advocacy to 400 adults and children and their families in Harford and Cecil Counties. Description

Position Summary:

The Manager, Employee Experience will directly oversee the employee engagement and retention, employee onboarding, and the employee training and development programs. This position will supervise the Human Resources Assistant.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

In a manner consistent with supporting The Arc NCR Mission Statement the Manager, Employee Experience shall do the following:

Quality Support

  • Represent The Arc NCR in the greater provider community through active participation in the Maryland Association of Community Services Training and Human Resources groups
  • Monitor the training status of all employees and communicate effectively to employees and supervisors to ensure compliance with training requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring all employees stay current with the required trainings; preventing any employee suspensions or terminations based on training

Quality Team Members

  • Manages The Arc NCR's peer/on-the-job training program to ensure proper training of the 'hands-on' portion of the onboarding and training; including selecting, training and following up with peer trainers and department supervisors
  • Reviews peer training checklists and regularly gives feedback to peer trainers and supervisors around areas of improvement needed
  • Follows-up with any new hires at the two (2) week, 45-day mark of employment to ensure training completion and full acclimation to the agency, department, and team culture
  • Oversees and works with Human Resources Assistant to follow up with peer trainers and supervisors on any open-ended onboarding, training or culture acclimation gaps at the 90-day status mark
  • Manages agency Learning Management System (LMS) and the vendor relationships associated
  • Manages and oversees the Agency's DSP Certification program and tuition reimbursement programs
  • Working with the Sr. Director, Human Resources, reviews quarterly employee talent management classifications
  • Leads employee development meetings; working with the employee and supervisor to develop the employee development plans
  • Manages employee quarterly chat sessions; creating action plans and communicating findings to the Sr. Director, Human Resources
  • Hosts and trains all DSP Development meetings
  • Acts and backup for the Director of HR as the host and trainer for the Agency Leadership Meetings
  • With the Sr. Director, Human Resources, conducts and analyzes the Annual Employee Satisfaction Survey; communicates results, conducts focus groups, and creates the action plan
  • Ensures the feedback from the 90 days and 6 months stay interviews and exit interviews are communicated to the leadership of the program and open items/requests are followed up on in a timely manner
  • With the Sr. Director, Human Resources, acts as a back-up and assists the HR Manager in employee relations investigations and mediations
  • Collaborating with the Benefit and System Coordinator and the Benefit Broker, roll out and promote Agency Wellness program
  • Manages and oversees the Med Tech Certification program (CMT); Set staff up for training, communicate clearances and suspensions, etc.
  • Act as a communication liaison for the Human Resources Department, attending all house/staff meetings to promote employee benefits and other employee programs.
  • Manages (through the HR Assistant), the monthly training calendars for the Agency; Renewals & Recertifications, Soft Skills, Technical Skills, etc.
  • With the Sr. Director of HR, manages all staff communications such announcements, transfers, recognition, etc., using email and texting service

Financial Excellence

  • Manages the Human Resources training and culture budget
  • Assists the Director with the creation of the Human Resources Department Budget
