The client will support the DDG 51 ARLEIGH BURKE-class guided missile destroyer program.The program is undergoing the latest in a series of flight upgrades and has added significant capabilities in recent years, and continues to do so, not only through the flight upgrades but also through large mid-life modernization programs.  The US Navy manages the acquisition of DDG 51 ships with a team of uniformed, Government civilian, and contractor staff; this position is in support of one of the contractor efforts.  We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our team in Washington, DC.  The ideal candidate will: Support The Columbia Group Program Manager in directing an integrated team assisting PMS 400D executing the DDG 51 Class Acquisition Program. This assistance is focused across four key tasks; Logistics Support, Program Support, Acquisition and Contract Management, and Business & Financial Management. Support includes coordination and integration without contractors supporting the Program Office. Additionally, the integrated support team is strategically placed in three locations, the Washington Navy Yard; the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Gulf Coast (SSGC) facilities in Pascagoula, Mississippi; and the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Bath (SSBA) facilities in Bath, Maine. As Deputy Program Manager, you may be required to stand in for The Columbia Group Program Manager in their absence.   Position Requirements Required Education, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution. A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience. A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in the Defense acquisition process (in support of a DoD program) in one or more of the following disciplines:  program management, technical, or business management.   Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent certification in areas of Contract Management, Program Management or Business Management.  Active Secret security clearance.
