The client will support the DDG 51 ARLEIGH BURKE-class guided missile destroyer program.The program is undergoing the latest in a series of flight upgrades and has added significant capabilities in recent years, and continues to do so, not only through the flight upgrades but also through large mid-life modernization programs.  The US Navy manages the acquisition of DDG 51 ships with a team of uniformed, Government civilian, and contractor staff; this position is in support of one of the contractor efforts. 

We are seeking a Program Manager to join our team in Washington, DC.  The ideal candidate will:

  • Manage cost, schedule, and performance for a cost-type contract of approximately 50 personnel.  The staff will be headquartered in Washington, DC at the Washington Navy Yard and on the waterfront in Pascagoula, MS and Bathe, ME.
  • Support coordination of management office operations; Program Planning and Integration; Program Monitoring and Control; Contract Administration; program and acquisition management support to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Gulf Coast (SSGC) in Pascagoula, Mississippi and the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Bath (SSBA) in Bath, Maine.
  • Support budget formulation and justification; budget execution; statutory, regulatory, and acquisition reporting; contract management; accounting reconciliation; ERP support; GFE & PARM Financial Management; and business process training and optimization.
  • Support EVMS, cost performance, schedule performance, cost and software data reporting, cost estimating, shipbuilder subcontracts, and analysis of the shipbuilder industrial base.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited institution. 
  • 15 years of professional experience in the Defense acquisition process in one or more of
  • the following disciplines: program management, technical, or business management. Three (3) years of the previous 5 years of experience must have been in support of DoD Program Management.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD program management, technical or business management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of DoD program analysis support and knowledge of DoD systems acquisition in technical or program area specified in the task order.
  • Professional certification: Project Management Professional – PMP or equivalent in the areas of Contract Management, Program Management or Business Management.
  • An active Secret security clearance.
  • US citizenship is a prerequisite. 

Strongly Desired:

  •  Direct experience with the DDG 51 program or another NAVSEA shipbuilding program
