Position ZM Maintenance Mechanic  
Description

Maintenance Mechanic opening at our ZM facility (located on the 1640 W Bruce St, Milwaukee property)6:00pm 6:30am Sun Thurs for nights, and there may be some OT opportunities on Saturdays for days and Fridays for nights.

Job description is as follows:

The ZM Maintenance Person is responsible for maintaining plant productivity and uptime by proactively performing a comprehensive maintenance function, including parts inventory and tools management, preventative maintenance, root cause analysis and minor fabrication and design activities. Inspects & conducts preventative maintenance on all equipment; maintain, troubleshoot & repair equipment; maintain and utilize maintenance management software, create PM schedules, track maintenance records, work orders and spare parts; identify and order spare parts and track inventory physically & in parts system; review and check work of maintenance done by other NF Recovery shift production employees, providing training and development of others. Design, weld, torch and otherwise fabricate minor modifications to the plant equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and PLC systems. Must have ability to read, write, interpret documents, prints, repair manuals and communicate effectively. Regular and reliable attendance is critical.

Position Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two-year AAS (technical degree) and/or technical certification in welding, hydraulics, electrical systems or industrial mechanics preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic functions of arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Computer ratio, rate, and percent.
  • Ability to do welding and fabricating work required.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting low voltage circuitry – 24 volt; 12 volt; or 10 volt.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills required. Timely follow up is critical in this position. Communications must be detailed, respectful and constructive.
  • Must be able to operate computer, calculator, cell-phone and two-way radio.
  • Familiarity heavy mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and material separators a plus
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30-50 pounds.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel to communicate and track information.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license.
