Position Design Build Sales  

Strategic Importance of this Role to the Company:

The Commercial Sales is a key role at Hidden Creek Landscaping as they need to manage their own clients and projects as they work towards their assigned sales goal. This position is responsible with representing the Hidden Creek Landscaping core values of unique design and exceptional customer service, right plant for right location, and a long term vision. You will need to interact with the client’s, project manager, operations manager, contract administrator, design team, division head to ensure your estimates, plans and paperwork are in line with Hidden Creek Standards of Start Clean – Finish Clean .

This role must create a very clear description of exactly what the client’s desired expectations are to the production team to ensure the utmost satisfaction upon completion. This will be through meetings, photos, sketches, plans or any means necessary to convert the lead to sale in a prompt manner. Constant communication will be necessary between client, installation team, design team (as needed) and the division head. Please make sure to follow the guidelines of Safety Quality Efficiency to ensure the success Hidden Creek Landscaping has set out to achieve.

Roles & Responsibilities in this position are:

Sales & Design

  • Attend Weekly sales meetings with the entire sales team to review your current workload and pipeline
  • Utilize the Start Clean / Finish Clean process with every project
  • Schedule all your own meetings with existing and potential clients within our software
  • Design your own work based on our client meetings and interactions. Utilize design team for additional support when needed.
  • Coordinate with Operations manager and Contract Administrator to insure all paperwork is correct before going into production.

Marketing/ Research/ Coordination

  • Research for new business opportunities through existing networks of clients, current events, learning seminars and social networking
  • Assist with marketing campaign for Hidden Creek in all branding opportunities. This may be through research of current trends, award submittals, clients’ surveys, etc.
  • Research the newest materials able to be utilized in this industry, new methods to eliminate waste through value engineering, and set hidden creek landscaping above competitors with this Intel.
  • Assist in the communication and coordination with vendors, subcontractors, and production staff.
  • Assist design team in creating design division standards for increased productivity.

Specific job duties for DB Sales-Design

  • Maximize software for all client interaction, sales tracking, estimating, and gross margin analysis.
  • Establish our process in first meeting to educate client on design fees, project management, and closeout.
  • Gather the necessary Intel from the client utilizing the DreamBuilder, on site interviews, site measurements, and personal background info on client and property to deliver Design ideas to client expectations.
  • Discussion of current Pipeline opportunities and next steps in sales meeting.
  • Approve project paperwork and check to insure invoicing is accurate.
  • Follow up with clients on overdue invoices. (anything 30+ days out)
  • Daily touch basis with Operations & Project Manager to discuss current projects and take mutual assignments with agreed timing.
  • Report months leads proposed and sales.
  • Enhance marketing and sales presence of company by attending 1 networking meeting a month.

Provide WOW! Customer Service:

  • 24 hours or less response on all inquiries. Be proactive not reactive.
  • Create a positive culture following Safety Quality Efficiency.
  • Write weekly emails and conduct thank you phone calls to customers who recently conducted business with us.
  • Share client feedback and provide recognition on a weekly basis to team members who produced client jobs.
  • Show customer appreciation through gifts, thank you letters, follow-up calls, etc.

Learning Program:

  • Each employeee is asked to always be reading, listening to, or watching a developmental book, audio or video.
  • Upon completion of material and a short written summary/presentation of learning’s and opportunities; the full cost of the material plus a $50 bonus will be paid.

Critical Driver’s:

  1. Have responded to all call and/or inquiries within 24 hours and logged this information into LMN
  2. Weekly Pipeline Review with Division Head of current sales as well as yearend goal
  3. Impeccable communication between design/ production/ administration/ client
  4. Work Backlog of 2-3 months in Design/ Build to all new potential clients
  5. Design turn- around time average of 2-3 weeks after first meeting
  6. Two awards per year for design/ construction division
