Position Residential Maintenance Foreman  
Description

Strategic Importance of this Role to the Company:

The Maintenance Foreman is pivotal part of the Residential Division and to the success of Hidden Creek Landscaping. This position is responsible for ensuring that the client’s expectations for site quality and services are being met or exceeded by being a hands-on leader executing tasks and monitoring the site using proper horticultural practices and training the assigned crew.

The Residential Foreman will supervise a crew and train to be able to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks, as well provide daily progress reporting on job sites and completing all paperwork daily. Time management is key with this position, performing multiple jobs per day and performing problem solving to complete jobs in a timely manner. This position will also either drive a snowplow truck or run a sidewalk crew for snow removal.

Roles and responsibilities in this position are:

  • Responsible for supervising a team of 2 to 4 crew members
  • Evaluate crew members verbally on a daily/weekly basis of how they are performing their job expectations and communicate evaluation to Production Manager daily-weekly-monthly
  • Manage the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers at end of day including all daily labor, equipment and materials required to complete daily objectives
  • Oversee crew to make sure assigned jobs are complete, within budgeted hours, and quality of service exceeds customer expectations and ensure proper safety, quality, and
  • Train crew members on proper and safe job methods efficiency including proper PPE is being worn by all team members
  • Inspect all work for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work due to quality or customer satisfaction issues
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment; Check fluids / grease points on all equipment (mowers, etc.), trucks and trailers
  • Conduct before and after inspections of job site
  • Assist your crew in the completion of required tasks for job sites
  • Complete and submit hours, material tracking, crew attendance, and any other required paperwork daily
  • Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
  • Daily interaction and communication with clients in a professional manner to ensure they are satisfied with service or find any potential issues that can be addressed
  • Report site issues, concerns or possible improvements on site to Production Manager and Account Manager daily
  • Operate equipment including, but not limited to hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers
  • Performing large and small plant installs, pruning, mulching and floral installation
  • Identify insect and disease issues and report to your Production and Account Manager and present solutions
  • Attend all company meetings

Weekly:

  • Perform crew equipment audit
  • Wash all equipment, trucks and trailers assigned to you
  • Be able to perform minor equipment a repair such as pull cord replacement, spark plug replacement, belt repair, and tension adjusts. Above that please fill out equipment repair form and let your Production Manager schedule further repairs with the mechanic
  • Make aware of any material shortages to the respected Managers
  • Meet with Manager about upcoming jobs, equipment needs and planning
  • Communicate and work as a team with other division crews
  • Follow up with any potential sales leads with Production and Account Manager
  • Recruit possible new employees for all divisions

Provide EXPECT MORE Customer Service:

  • Go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Speak with current client on jobsite to ensure total client happiness
  • Answer all customer inquiries to best of knowledge or direct the customer to an outlet with the proper knowledge
  • Handles “moments of truth” effectively and positively
  • Ensure total job completion
  • Leave jobsite in a clean professional state
  • Communicate with other team members of potential problems on job sites

Critical Drivers:

  1. There are no customer complaints, all jobs assigned to you are renewed and Customer Satisfaction Surveys received have above average or excellent scores for all jobs assigned to you
  2. Using the Scoreboard, you have met or beat budgeted hours for each job assigned to you and have no return trips to job site after completion
  3. Crew members weekly hours are at or below 45
  4. Attendance is above average or excellent (1 sick occurrence or less per quarter) and tardiness is above average or excellent (3 or less times being late per quarter)
  5. All vehicles, equipment and tools are returned in good shape and nothing is lost
  6. Be an Ideal Team Player – Humble, Hungry, and People Smart – work well with your entire team

  • Upon completion of material and a short-written summary/presentation of learning’s and opportunities; the full cost of the material plus a $50 bonus will be paid.
