Job Summary

Seeking an experienced practice/clinic manager to manage the operations of a medical clinic affiliated with the University of Nevada Reno, School of Medicine. 

Responsibilities of the position are the plan, develop, manage, organize, implement and direct the daily functions.

Collaborates with physician leader and staff concerning practice operations, problem solving for improvements including work flow.  

Makes written and oral reports and recommendations to leaders concerning the operations, writes and trains on standard operating procedures, and implements policies and procedures. 

Assists with finances and budget and overall strategic planning, including business development opportunities.   Responsible for hiring and performance management of practice staff, risk management and regulatory compliance.  

Meets regularly with physician and administrative leadership to review metrics. 

Recruits, interviews, selects, and hires practice personnel, supervisors and staff members.  

Must be customer service oriented.

 
Position Requirements

Education, and Experience

  • Minimum of two years managing a multi-provider clinic.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, RN, LPN, PA or MA a plus but not required, or combination of education experience to equal four years, preferred.
  • Internal Medicine or OB experience a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone, and in writing
  • Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships while addressing complex and sensitive administrative issues.
  • Ability to respond to emergent or stressful situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of intermediate computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and Word
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and their effective utilization
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality rules and regulations with the ability to follow.
  • Knowledge of human resources principles and management
  • Leadership skills to properly delegate and motivate a cohesive workforce
  • Excellent decision making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Intermediate financial management skills
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, team building, process improvement, leadership and time management skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in the use of computers including MS Office applications
