U.S. News & World Report is a digital media company dedicated to helping consumers and business professionals make important decisions. We publish independent reporting, rankings, data journalism and advice that have earned the trust of our readers and users for more than 85 years.

Your role in helping us shape the future:

The General Manager of Consumer Healthcare will lead U.S. News & World Report's expanding digital consumer health franchises. The GM will oversee the consumer health division's P&L, strategy, team and partnerships, and will represent U.S. News across the digital healthcare industry.

Approximately 10 million people come to health.usnews.com each month, most of them seeking our guidance on a decision about their healthcare. Today, our products and advice fall into broadly two categories:

  • Health Providers: Choosing the right healthcare provider for yourself or your loved ones can be complicated and stressful. We first launched our flagship Best Hospitals rankings 30 years ago and have since expanded our digital franchise to help people find the right doctor, dentist or nursing home, as well as other types of healthcare providers.
  • Health Solutions: Consumers seek a trusted brand and partner when making decisions about their health - where it's even more important than other categories. The U.S. News health vertical includes a 'solutions' product suite to help people choose among the options for diet plans, health insurance plans, and over-the-counter medications and durable products.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Consumer Health Strategy: The GM will develop the growth and operating strategies for the Health website and will help the teams execute against them. He or she will work with internal revenue teams including Advertising and Licensing and will oversee key revenue-driving partnerships, as well as look for new opportunities to expand our franchises and revenue.
  • Consumer Digital Health Products: The GM will work with his or her product teams as well as counterparts in Technology, UX and Content to create an exceptional user experiences and optimize for digital revenue opportunities. Important audience KPIs for our consumer products include total visits, engagement, repeat visitation and collecting user data. Important revenue KPIs include ARPU and, where applicable, impressions / viewability for high value advertising campaigns and conversions to lower-funnel activity such as appointment booking and lead generation.
  • Consumer Strategy for Health Analysis: The U.S. News health franchises center on providing consumers with objective guidance they can trust. The GM will work with our in-house Health Analysis team to focus on creating ratings, rankings and recommendations that are the most useful to consumers choosing the right providers and treatments for their needs.
  • Team: Hiring and retaining top talent is a critical business objective for the Health group, just as it is across the organization. The GM will assess the team needs and structure and determine how to best attract and organize the people needed to execute against our strategy.
