Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Provides training related to ‘Pathfinder Pre-Employment Youth Transition Services’ for youth in pre-employment job interest assessment, job skill training, work-based learning experience, job exploration counseling, career counseling and self-advocacy associated with Arkansas Rehabilitation Service programming. Develops contacts and workplace experience for youth enrolled in the Pre-Employment Transition Services program.

MONDAY-FRIDAY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Instructs youth participating in the ARS Pre-employment program in all required components.
  • Conducts training for required skill-building to cover interpersonal skills necessary for workplace readiness.
  • Instructs youth participating in the ARS Pre-employment program in all required components.
  • Assesses youth participating in the ARS Pre-employment program for community employment through informal interviews with professional staff.
  • May instruct a group of ARS participants on types of employment and skill building exercises
  • Seeks and develops contacts and planning necessary for the placement of youth in positions at various locations for work experiences.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion and submission of all necessary documentation for the provision of billing, Progress notes, daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Attends school meetings and activities as needed for the benefit of client and school program coordination; may include IEP meetings, parent meetings, school open house, school in-service, or other activities.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of planned group activities for transition curriculum; workplace experience.
  • May be required to transport clients to or from designated locations.
  • Conducts pre-employment assessment with Kuder or other designated program to determine areas of potential career-interest areas for youth.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

 

 
Position Requirements

Equivalent of four years in high school, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Driving for Pathfinder MAY be required under certain circumstances. Requirements of the Pathfinder Vehicle Loss Control Program must be met before being allowed to drive.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Special Education or Business Teacher certification
