Key Job Requirements
Education - Required to have and maintain (1) Current State of Florida EMT certification, (2) Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification, (3) 16-hour EVOC (or equivalent) certification, (4) Insurable Florida Class “D” Drivers License (5) ICS 100, 200, 700, 800.
Experience - Trained, experienced and otherwise qualified to drive emergency response ambulances and PRV’s, maintain the appropriate class of drivers license.
Managerial Skills - Has the responsibility or authority which is limited to the direction of EMT new hires, Citizen’s Academy riders and/or students.
Impact of Actions - Decisions and impact are limited.
Complexity - Work consists of routine tasks, processes, or operations. The incumbent selects and applies several clearly prescribed, standard policies and procedures requiring little interpretation. Problems are solved by choosing between a few clear choices or discussing them with a supervisor.
Decision Making - Supervision is present to establish general objectives relative to a specific project, to outline the desired end product and to identify potential resources for assistance. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate of available guidelines and procedures, interpret precedents, and adopt standard methods or practices to meet variations in facts and/or conditions.
Communications - Requires regular contact within the department and with other departments, outside agencies or the general public, supplying or seeking information.
