Intensive Case Manager-SAIF

Key Responsibilities:

Acts as an Intensive Case Manager to adults receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), as well as General Assistance (GA) benefits under the Welfare program. Primary focus is to help these individuals close their welfare cases by reaching self sufficiency. Maintain a caseload as assigned by the Program Manager and will develop individualized service plans, which are consistent with WFNJ regulations and leads to employment. Duties will include at a minimum: job development (including job leads, resume/interview preparation), client advocacy, referral, follow-up and support, case management and service coordination, linkages to community resources, mental health care services and/or alternative benefit programs, group facilitation, mentoring development of case plans and long-term career goals, along with leveraging of State and County services.

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • BA degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience in working with welfare recipients, domestic violence, family therapy, job development, crisis intervention, counseling, mental health, and substance abuse.
  • Must demonstrate good organizational, communication, negotiating, and problem solving skills.
  • Must be accessible to clients and a team player.
  • Requires use of own vehicle.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy.
  • Preferred: 2 years experience working with hard to serve economically disabled adults.
