Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Assists manager of one residential facility. Works under the direct supervision of the Residential Manager. Responsible for serving as a role model for all residents and subordinate staff; is responsible for assisting the Residential Manager in the daily operation, security and safety of the residential services facility assigned. Is responsible for assisting the Residential Manager in the general supervision and training for all subordinate staff and residents in the residential services facility.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervises and assists subordinate staff in training residents in independent living skills, home management skills, cooking, cleaning and socialization skills, utilizing the work wheel (as necessary) and task analysis.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in coordinating schedules for both Waiver and generic service categories.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in ensuring that all DDS regulations and guidelines are met with respect to the requirements of the residential services facility.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in providing for the safety and security of the residential facility.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in serving as liaison between the person, parents/legal representation, Case Manager, and Waiver/DDS officials.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager with monthly and quarterly reports and various other records (i.e., attendance, drills, maintenance, etc.).
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in coordinating mediation, investigations, and disciplinary actions with appropriate personnel.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager with the purchasing and keeping inventory of all supplies bought and received for staff/residents use.
  1. Will complete incident reports and behavior reports and relay them to the appropriate personnel.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in overseeing the medication management program and coordinate as necessary with LPN/RN's and the contracted pharmacy.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager with payroll for Residential Staff.
  1. Supervises the training of the residents in total realm of residential adjustment as they lead to independence and placement.
  1. Keeps abreast of training and work opportunities for individual served by maintaining a solid working relationship with all funding sources and attending appropriate training and seminars.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in supervising and training Residential/Waiver supportive living employees. Provides input into the annual performance evaluations for subordinate staff. Coordinate subordinate staff schedules, time worked, vacation and personal leave accrual.
  1. Offers suggestions and feedback to all workers who provide supportive living services for the facility to ensure quality care.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in reviewing cases and focuses on recipient's progress in meeting goals and objectives established through the Plan of Care to include review of documentation completed by staff.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in monitoring all supportive living services as assigned.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager in maintaining accurate records for client money management, bills, and having a clear audit trail for assessment purposes as required.
  1. Assists the Residential Manager processing paperwork for clients who move in or move out, all processing verification documents, HUD files, and other duties relating to housing, Section 8 or other as required.
  1. Will follow Pathfinder Policies and procedures, applicable state regulations, CARF regulations, DDS regulations, HUD regulations, Waiver regulations and other licensing requirements necessary for quality of care.
  1. Serves as the Residential Manager in their absence.
  1. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Must be able to drive 15 passenger vehicle (over the age of 25)

Must be able to attend full week of orientation between the hours of 9 am-4:30pm

Must be able to provide proof of car insurance and car registration

Must be able to provide proof of education

Must be able to provide valid driver's license

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 7 to 11 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess an valid Driver's License, maintain personal liability insurance, and be able to drive Pathfinder, Inc. vehicle if needed.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Knowledge of developmental disabilities, positive behavioral techniques, DDS standards and license, HUD requirements and paperwork, problem solving skills, training techniques and strategies, be able to interact with individuals with disabilities in a respectful and appropriate manner.
