HR Specialist 

Description
  • Review, analyze and administer human resources programs such as the position classification (County), the compensation plan, policies and procedures; recommend improvements through social learning.
  • Ensure that the agency risk as it pertains to Human Resources is minimized; in the following programs: benefits, short term and long term disability, worker's compensation, pension, FMLA, and COBRA. Promote nonviolence and focus on the four aspects of safety (physical, emotional, social and moral).
  • Advise department directors, supervisors and employees through social responsibility in understanding and application of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Maintain personnel files ensuring that all appropriate documentation is secured according to internal policies and federal regulations. Responsible for maintenance in the following HR databases: Paychex, Relias, EP Staff checks.
  • Maintain and process bi-weekly payroll including data entry of new employees, employee changes, rate changes, direct deposit and all aspects of payroll.
  • Distribute, collect, and maintain all paperwork relevant to payroll, benefits, or other human resource needs.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts such as; interviews, references, offers, on-boarding, new hire paperwork.
  • Conduct exit interviews using emotional intelligence and report findings to HR Director or appropriate Department Director utilizing open communication.
  • Creation and maintenance of reports as needed.
  • Adhere to seven recognized Sanctuary commitments which includes social responsibility, social learning, non-violence, open communication, democracy, emotional intelligence, growth and change.
 
Position Requirements
  • A Degree in a Human Resources or related field from and accredited college or university or equivalent Human Resource experience
  • Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report in accordance with Center policy.
