Facilities Maintenance Technician 

About the Organization Red Oak Recovery, a CARF accredited program, is a premier clinically-driven therapy program for young adults and adolescents. We are here to serve clients, families, and other stakeholders through a very difficult time. Our team provides gender-specific treatment for young adults ages 18-30, and adolescent males 14-17 struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. Our licensed and experienced staff provide the most clinically sophisticated and integrative substance abuse and mental health treatment available.

As a small clinically-driven program we have the ability to meet each client where they are mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally to design a treatment experience that is unique to them.

Description

Red Oak Recovery is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and executing building operations and services including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, flooring, and snow removal. Analyzes utility bills and energy output, purchases equipment, and maintains appearance and functionality of buildings
  • Maintain, repair, and improve structures
  • Ensure the buildings meet health and safety requirements and the facilities comply with legislation
  • Perform monthly facilities maintenance inspections and ensure record is accurate and current
  • Perform monthly safety inspections and ensure record is accurate and current
  • Maintain an accurate and current facilities maintenance calendar (including but not limited to: fire inspections, septic clean outs, fire extinguisher re-certifications, water filtration maintenance, water testing schedule, etc.)
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences
  • Maintain an impeccable driving and safety record using company vehicles to purchase supplies
  • Assist with Project management to supervise and coordinate work of contractors
  • Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies
  • Ensure that all buildings and structures remain safe posing no threat so staff and clients
  • Calculate and compare costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money
  • Plan and implement waste reduction strategies
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and functional tool shed
  • Ensure that roadway and walkways are clear of snow and ice (including spreading salt by hand, shoveling snow by hand and operating snow plow)
  • Assisting groundskeeper, operations coordinator, and others as assigned by supervisor

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Current Adult CPR/Basic First Aid (provided by Red Oak Recovery)
  • Working knowledge of basic building repair
  • Minimum HS diploma (or equivalent)
  • Basic carpentry/plumbing/electrical/appliance
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

 

Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum one year experience in construction/landscaping
  • Knowledge of purchasing, supplies, grounds-keeping, and equipment repair
  • Understanding of OSHA, building codes, general construction
