Schedule 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday, 6:00 am-2:00 pm for a maximum of six months. Schedule may vary based on departmental needs and include overtime as required.  
Pay Rate $12.00/hr.  
Description

SUMMARY
Operate pick-up trucks; perform Traffic & Lighting maintenance and repairs; maintenance of facility building and grounds and related work as assigned under direct or indirect supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected.
• Use various hand-held tools including compressor with air hammer, shovels, mowers, weed whackers, for full shift.
• Must lift or assist in lifting 100 pounds.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Keep work area and equipment clean.
• Assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Ability to read and write.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
• Ability to climb into truck beds.
• Ability to push or pull equipment into position.
• Must have the ability to perform very strenuous work in extremely adverse weather conditions.
• Knowledge of work crew practices, basic safety and traffic rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and precautionary measures.
• Able to use hand tools, shovels, etc., for a full shift.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Valid Driver's License required.

EQUIPMENT
Hand-held tools including compressor with air hammer, shovels, mowers, weed whackers.

The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds including pulling or pushing equipment into position. Specific vision abilities required in this job include visions and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most if not all work to be performed occurs outdoors. Must be able to work in extremely adverse weather conditions and/or environment. This is a safety-sensitive position, subject to random testing for drugs and alcohol in accordance with City policy.
