Description

Position Description Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for facilitating the receiving, storing, moving and shipping of product, supplies, stock and materials, and effectively managing the flow of order processing.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promote and adhere to the Core Values and Behavior Code.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing shipments timely and accurately. Maintain all records regarding shipping and receiving.
  • Ensure all received inventory is catalogued and placed in appropriate storage areas.
  • Communicate effectively with the production, Sales and Quality departments as to discrepancies and assist to develop resolutions.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and other related duties.
  • Prepare U.S. export documentation and obtain certificates of origin as necessary for product shipping to the Mexico facility.
  • Responsible for the performance of the Shipping and Receiving team members.
  • Maintain a favorable employee relations climate through positive qualified supervision, regular communication and proper interpretation and application of the company policies.
  • Demonstrate capacity to perform all duties and responsibilities of team members. Work alongside all team members.
  • Possess a functional knowledge of overall company operations and assigned department(s) role within that operation.
  • Assist production, quality and procurement by overseeing team members, scheduling and monitoring work assignments, and setting priorities.
  • Direct effective utilization of staff and equipment to maximize efficiency while maintaining costs, including recommending staffing needs.
  • Support human resources and management of employee relations including, but not limited to, evaluations, discipline, and PTO.
  • Required to wear PPE appropriate as required by job duties.
  • Strive to develop personal and professional skills.
  • Promote company goals including Safety, Quality and Production.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree, preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Strong people development skills including training, coaching, mentoring and team development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to shift priorities based on the organizations’ needs.
  • Self-motivated and able to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions, take ownership/accountability and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Integrity and professionalism are essential.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This full-time position operates in both a professional office and production environment. Use of computer, telephone and other office equipment throughout the day as needed to conduct business. Physical effort consists of frequent handling of light to average weight and materials. Work performed requires constant alertness and activity, concentrated mental and visual attention required.

Long pants, no cuffs (required in production areas)

Safety glasses (required in production areas)

Ear plugs (required in production areas)

Work gloves (optional, recommended in production areas)
