Share Email Opening Title Infection Control Nurse - 4238  Description Position Summary: Provide comprehensive management of the Tohono O’odham Nation Hospital Health Care (TONHC) Infection Control Program and assist with the management of the employee health program as needed. Scope of Work: This position is located in the Tohono O’odham Nation Health Care Sells Hospital. The goal of the surveillance, prevention, and control of infection function is to identify and reduce risks of acquiring and transmitting infections. Will assist with employee health function is to coordinate the employee health program as needed. Works under the general supervision of the Director of Quality Management.   Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Education: Degree from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Registration: Applicants must have active, current and unrestricted license as a professional nurse in a State of the United States. Three (3) years of experience in health care is required. One year in infection control or epidemiology in an acute care setting Preferred Certification by the National Board of Infection Control (CIC). Must obtain certification within two years of hire.   Licenses, Certifications, Special Requirements: Must have current certifications in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This position requires a membership in Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). Upon recommendation for hire a criminal background and fingerprint check is required to determine suitability for hire. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, (no DUIs or major traffic citations within the last three years). Must meet the Tohono O’odham Nation tribal employer’s insurance requirements to receive a driver’s permit to operate program vehicles. Must submit a 39-month driving record with the employment application. Based on the department’s needs, incumbents may be required to demonstrate fluency in both the Tohono O’odham Language and English as a condition of employment.   Location Sells   Open Date 7/30/2020   Close Date   About the Organization The Tohono O'odham Nation is a federally-recognized tribe that includes approximately 28,000 members occupying tribal lands in Southwestern Arizona.
