Description

Responsibilities

  • As an OH& Instructor you will be responsible for instructing students on the various training programs offered by HSE Integrated including Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, etc.
  • As an OH&S Consultant you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of client’s OH&S programs within a variety of workplaces (construction, industrial, fishery, etc).
  • You will provide information, advice and guidance to clients with respect to other duties and responsibilities under the OH&S Act, Regulations and company OH&S Program.
  • You will assist the client’s management team through compliance and promotion to work cooperatively to affect the highest possible station of health and safety in the workplace.
  • You will conduct workplace inspections, incident investigations, orientation & training sessions, etc.
  • You will report directly to the Branch Manager of the Dartmouth & Saint John office.
  • Ability to exercise professional discretion, and maintain and build client relations.
  • You must be able to understand, interpret and explain legislation in plain language terms for clients.
  • Must be comfortable and able to communicate effectively in a variety of setting including one-on-one and larger gatherings.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various computer program such as Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable motor vehicle is required.
  • It is considered an asset if you have a Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRPS) designation or acceptable equivalency.

Position Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience in OH&S
  • Working towards or interested in achieving a safety designation
  • High commitment to safe work practices
  • Possess working knowledge OH&S principles, practices and legislation
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in OH&S is an asset
  • Excellent communications, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of organization
