What You Would Be Doing

The primary objective of the Billing Specialist Supervisor is to perform all aspects of the billing process in a timely and accurate manner and oversee the work and performance of direct reports. Responsible for all aspects of billing including, but not limited to: collecting necessary billing documentation, preparation of invoices, contract maintenance and posting payments. This will be a combination of working in the office and home.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing meaningful and accurate information to both internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for collections of all client accounts, proactive research of all troubled accounts and communication with management staff regarding collection activities.
  • Complete month end close procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare reports for management staff and communicate process and procedural issues to ensure timely collections.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of individuals served.
  • Promote a positive and professional attitude to facilitate positive morale, mutual respect, and an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Monitor work and performance of direct reports, addressing issues as needed.
  • Communicate openly and honestly with supervisory personnel.
  • Ensure understanding of new funding sources and set up efficient processes surrounding any new revenue streams.
  • Strong knowledge of Billing software utilized within our organization and facilitate and train others to ensure they use properly.
  • Finding innovative ways to streamline AR processes to be more efficient.
  • Assist with financial audits as directed.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor
 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of experience in the Revenue Cycle
  • Preferred experience in Billing Behavioral Health services
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new programs expeditiously
  • Preferred experience with SmartCare and Advisor softwares
  • Good interpersonal skills when dealing with staff, co-workers, clients, and payers
  • Preferred supervisory experience

This position will supervise the Billing Specialist positions.
